What is BET?
BUSINESS ENGLISH TEST (bet) is a test that measures the English language proficiency for non-native speakers of English who use the language in international business contexts.

What is the content of BET?
The LIA-BET is a two-hour, paper-and-pencil, multiple-choice test that comprises 200 items divided into two sections.
Section1: Listening Comprehension
This section measures the ability to understand spoken English in business contexts. The skills tested include listening for details, main idea, understanding intonation, functions of structures, etc.
There are four parts in this section:
Part One : Photographs 20 items
Part Two : Questions and Responses 30 items
Part Three : Short Conversations 30 items
Part Four : Short Talks 20 items
Section 2: Usage and Reading Comprehension
This section measures the ability to understand written English in the workplace such as recognizing patterns in English grammar, understanding vocabulary items, and understanding reading materials in the forms of notices, letters, advertisements, instructions, memoranda, etc. The reading skills tested include scanning, skimming, making inferences, and deducing implications. There are three parts in this section:
Part One : Usage and Vocabulary 40 items
Part Two : Written Expression 20 items
Part Three : Reading Comprehension 40 items
How are the Scoring and Results?
- Each section is scored separately.
- Results can be obtained within 3 (three) days at branches in Jakarta.
- Results are valid for one year.
How much is the investment fee?
- BET à Rp 175,000.- /person*
- BET + Interview à Rp 200,000.-/person
- Examiner’s incentive is Rp 250,000.- (For 20 BET test takers or for 10 BET test takers + interview)
- Should the test takers be fewer than 10, the company has to pay for 10 test takers.
Others
- Register at the nearest branch and have your ID document with you for registration.
- When taking the test bring along: ID/Driver’s License/Student ID, 2B pencil and eraser, payment receipt.
- Notify postponement at least one day before the test date. Postponement is valid for only one week.
