On Saturday morning, 4 July 2009, LBPP LIA Pramuka hosted a gathering held by The Toastmasters International Club. The TI club is a non-profit organization which has a purpose to improve communication and leadership capability of its members. TI was founded by Dr. Ralp Smedley in California in 1927. Right now, TI Club has spreaded into 106 countries with 250.000 members and 12.000 clubs. In Indonesia, the TI club was established in 1989.
In his welcoming speech, LIA Pramuka’s Branch Manager, Bapak David Simanjuntak said that to become effective leaders, we must have good communication skills. And that is when a gathering like this Toastmasters gathering can benefit people who want to learn and practise to be effective leaders.
This event was attended by more than 120 people and 12 trainers from Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.
